The Risk Benchmarking page lets you compare financial crime risk scores across your counterparty portfolio and track your own custom compliance criteria alongside EFI's automated scores. Use it to identify which institutions carry the highest risk, customize which data columns are visible, and record your internal assessments directly in the table. Navigate here from the main menu via Portfolio Assessment.
Understanding the Scores
The table displays each institution with its FinCrime Risk score (the overall EFI rating, 0–100 where higher means lower risk) and breakdowns by theme: Sanctions, Geographic Risk, Governance Framework, Bribery and Corruption, Culture and Employee Conduct, and Organisational Reputation. A dash means no assessment has been completed for that institution yet.
Click any institution name to open its full report. Click a FinCrime Risk score to see a quick summary — risk trajectory over time, a radar chart of theme scores, and key institution profile details — without leaving the benchmarking page.
Customizing Visible Columns
Click Columns in the toolbar to open the column visibility panel. Columns are organized into three groups:
- Risk themes — the standard EFI assessment themes (Transactional Activity, Sanctions, Geographic Risk, Customer Portfolio, Governance Framework, Bribery and Corruption, Culture and Employee Conduct, Organisational Reputation, Product and Channels)
- Screening results — transaction-level screening outcomes such as Transaction Blocks, Transaction Warnings, Watchlist Warning, High Risk Warning, and High Risk Country Warning
- Customize criteria — fields you can fill in manually for each institution, including RFI, SARS/STRS, Alerts generated, Transaction Volume, and any custom columns you create
Check or uncheck columns to show or hide them. Changes appear immediately in the table but are not saved until you click Save in the toolbar.
Adding Custom Columns
Click Add Column to create a new data column with any name you choose — for example, "PEP Exposure" or "Remediation Status". The new column appears in the table with editable cells for each institution, and is also listed under Customize criteria in the Columns panel. Custom columns let your team track internal compliance data alongside EFI's automated scores in one view.
Entering Custom Data
Columns under Customize criteria and Screening results have editable cells. Type directly into any cell to record values — for example, the number of RFIs sent, high-risk signal counts, or whether lending is active (Y/N). Your entries are held locally until you click Save, which persists them for your organization. All users in your institution will see the saved values.
Filtering by Score Range
Use the EFI rating & scores slider in the sidebar to narrow the table to institutions within a specific risk score range.
Enable Set Manual Threshold to add a midpoint marker on the slider, splitting scores into two zones. Scores at or below the threshold are highlighted in orange across all theme columns, making it easy to spot which institutions fall below your risk appetite boundary.
Using Segments
The Segments section lists your counterparty segments (groups defined on the Counterparties page). Click a segment name to filter the table to only show institutions in that group. Click Edit segments... to manage segment definitions.
Searching and Exporting
Use the search box to find specific institutions by name, BIC, LEI, or city. Results filter in real time.
Click Download CSV file in the sidebar to export all currently visible institutions and their scores — including any custom criteria values you have entered — as a CSV file for use in spreadsheets or compliance reports.
Showing Your Own Institution
Check Show My Institution in the sidebar to include your own institution in the comparison table. This is useful for seeing where you stand relative to your counterparties.
