The Ratings Report is your institution's own EFI risk assessment. Access it from Ratings report in the main navigation to see how your institution scores across financial crime risk themes, track changes over time, and understand what drives your rating.

Understanding Your Score

The report header shows three key metrics:

  • EFI Score — a composite score from 0 to 100 reflecting your institution's overall financial crime risk. Higher scores indicate lower risk. The letter grade (e.g., BBB) maps to score ranges, with AAA at the top, and provides a quick benchmark.
  • Data completeness — the percentage of data categories EFI has received from your institution. Higher completeness leads to more accurate scoring. Click View details to see which data categories have been submitted and which are still missing, with a direct link to upload additional data.
  • Report period — use the date dropdown to view historical reports. Each report has a validity period shown next to the selected date.

Overview Tab

The Overview tab has three sub-views:

Institution Info shows your institution's profile (ownership, incorporation date, managed assets, employees, BIC, address, and business areas) next to a Report technical information block. Click Edit to update your institution's profile details.

The technical information tells you which data and model produced the report:

  • Data effective date: the month whose submitted data was assessed. This is the month named in the PDF label of the report actions.
  • Model run date: when the EFI risk model ran on that data.
  • Report published date: when the finished report was made available to you.
  • Report valid until: the end of the report's validity period, also shown next to the date dropdown.
  • Model version: the version of the EFI model that calculated the scores.

The downloaded PDF also carries a report hash and a data hash so a copy can be checked against the original. These hashes are not shown on screen.

Risk Trajectory displays a month-by-month table and line chart of your EFI Score. Use this to spot trends — a falling score over several months may warrant investigation into what changed in your risk profile. Toggle between showing your own risk scores and the industry median for comparison.

Theme Scores ranks all nine risk themes from lowest (highest risk) to highest score, with both a sortable table and a radar chart. The lowest-scoring theme is highlighted on the radar when the view opens; click any theme in the list to highlight it instead. This view helps you quickly identify which themes contribute most to your overall risk and where to focus improvement efforts.

Exploring Risk Themes

Each risk theme has its own tab. The table below summarises what each theme covers; the same description appears at the top of the tab.

Theme What it covers
Transactional Activity Risk and control eventualities relating to the transactions the institution executes on behalf of itself, its clients or third parties.
Sanctions Risk and control eventualities related to economic sanctions issued by key authorities: the United Nations, the European Union, OFAC, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and HM Treasury.
Geographic Risk Risks arising from the institution's global footprint and its direct or indirect exposure to high-risk or sanctioned jurisdictions.
Customer Portfolio Risk and control eventualities relating to the institution's clients, their characteristics and the adequacy of the due diligence controls in place.
Governance Framework Eventualities relating to the governance and design of the institution's anti-financial crime programme.
Bribery and Corruption Eventualities affecting the risk that employees, vendors or other parties engage in bribery and corruption-related criminal activity as predicate offences to money laundering, together with the controls in place to mitigate those risks.
Culture and Employee Conduct Risk and control eventualities relating to employee conduct. Employees have access to information and systems that could enable criminal activity, so companies keep controls in place to reduce that risk.
Organisational Reputation Risk and control eventualities affecting the institution's public profile, such as media coverage, public disclosure obligations and ownership.
Product and Channels Risk and control eventualities relating to the products and services the institution offers and how they are made available to clients (online, branch, intermediaries and so on).

Transactional Activity theme detail

Clicking a theme tab shows:

  • A description of what the theme covers
  • The Theme Score on a color-coded scale from 0 to 100, alongside the industry median so you can see how you compare
  • Data Completeness specific to that theme, with a link to upload missing data
  • Key risk indicators: the detailed findings that drive the score, such as correspondent banking activity, transaction data quality breakdowns (originator/intermediary/beneficiary completeness), geographic distribution compared to trade partners, and alert escalation statistics
  • Analytics: additional visualisations and charts specific to the theme, shown only when the theme has analytics content
  • DDQ: the questions from the Wolfsberg Correspondent Banking Due Diligence Questionnaire that feed this theme, each with the answer your institution gave

The DDQ sub-tab is read-only and scrolls within the tab. Questions are numbered as in the questionnaire (Q1, Q2 and so on), and sub-questions are grouped under their parent question. It is not shown on the Transactional Activity, Sanctions, Geographic Risk and Customer Portfolio tabs, which are scored from submitted data rather than questionnaire answers.

The key risk indicators are where you'll find the most actionable detail. For example, under Transactional Activity you can see what percentage of transactions include all required originator and beneficiary data fields, compare your top transaction countries against your country's major trade partners, and review how automated monitoring alerts were escalated.

PDF download

Select PDF to download the full report as a multi-page PDF for the currently selected assessment period (the date shown in the label, e.g., "April 2025"). Before the download starts, a confidentiality warning appears — you must check the acknowledgement box confirming you agree to handle the information in compliance with the EFI Terms & Conditions, then click Download report. The button stays disabled until you accept. The PDF includes all theme scores, key risk indicators, and analytics for the selected period. Use this when you need an offline copy for internal review or to share with compliance stakeholders.

Report summary

Report summary downloads a condensed single-page PDF overview of your report. It covers the same assessment period as the full PDF but in a shorter format suitable for executive briefings or quick reference. The same confidentiality acceptance step applies before the download begins.

Download scores as CSV

Download scores as CSV saves your score history as a spreadsheet, with no confidentiality step. The file has one row per assessment month, newest first, covering up to the last 12 months. Columns are the month, the EFI score, one column per risk theme, and the number of transactions in that month's assessment. Scores are whole numbers, matching what the report shows on screen. The file is named after your institution and ends in -scores.csv.

Edit institution

Edit institution opens the Edit Institution Details form. The form has two sections: Basic Information (Name, Swift Name, BIC, LEI, Legal Form Code, Legal Form Description, Website URL) and Address (Country as a two-letter code like DE or GB, Region, City, Street Address). Make your changes and click Save, or Cancel to discard. This is the same form accessible via the Edit button in the Institution Info section.

Go to signals

Go to signals navigates to the Signal Cases page filtered to your institution. The page shows all signal cases linked to your institution — each row displays the signal title, status, priority, assignee, category, due date, and creation date. From here you can review adverse media findings, assign signals to team members, and manage investigations. Use Back to Entities to return to the Counterparties list, or use Show Filters to narrow results. This option only appears if your institution has the signals feature enabled.

Comparing Report Periods

Use the date dropdown at the top of the report to switch between historical assessment periods. The report content — scores, theme breakdowns, and indicators — updates to reflect the selected period. This lets you track whether corrective actions (submitting additional data, improving processes) have had an impact on your score over time.

The PDF link below the institution name in the report header downloads the PDF for the selected period. It opens the same confidentiality warning as the PDF option in the report actions.
